Meet Tanya, the Owner of Lakeside Massage

Tell us the story of how your business came to be!

I’ve been a professional masseuse for 8 years and we wanted to have our own business. It’s important to me that our customers are cared for so I wanted to bring some of my own personal touches to make what we offer a truly Thai experience.
How did you end up at Lakeside, and how long have you been here?

We had been looking for a suitable location for about 6 months and it was by chance we came across the Lakeside opportunity. On our first visit to Lakeside we really liked the “feel” of the centre and how it has a local feel rather than the heavily commercialised big centres that have the same offers an just sort of look the same whether they are at Caridale or over the road. Lakeside Thai Massage open our doors on Friday 4^th of July so we are pretty much brand new to Lakeside and very happy to be part of the Love Your Local campaign.
What inspired you to start this business?

I feel proud when I can help a customer feel better with their body so I wanted to have my own business to help people.
Is there a special story or tradition behind it?

Yes, I studied Thai and Remedial Massage and believe Thai is better than the other style but I can mix and match to suit what our customers need.
What’s currently the crowd favourite in your store?

Remedial with instant HICAP refund is always popular but our 90 minute Thai style with complimentary hot stones and oil is our most popular.
What do customers keep coming back for?

Being a professional massage therapist our expert knowledge helps our clients with their holistic health.
What do you love most about being part of the Lakeside community?

There’s more of a connection between the customers and the merchants, it’s a family and community orientated centre.
How has the support of locals made a difference?

As part of the Lakeside Victoria Point community we thrive on their support.
Why is shopping local, and supporting family-run businesses, so important to you?

We are a small family business that appreciates locals supporting locals. We live in the Redlands and shop local ourselves.
What’s your go-to meal or treat at Lakeside (besides your own)?

We love going to Thai Victoria for dinner after a long day.
